Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) assigned to a hospital setting in Utica, New York. Start date: 08/24/2026. This is a travel - temporary assignment lasting approximately 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,077–$2,189 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Night, 2x3 schedule. Unit focus: Med/Surg with Stroke Stepdown care on a 64-bed unit.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult Med/Surg stroke stepdown patients, including monitoring neurological status, vital signs, and overall condition
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; operate IV pumps and manage enteral feeding tubes as indicated
- Monitor and document patient progress in EPIC; communicate changes to the care team promptly
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other disciplines to plan and adjust patient care plans
- Support patient safety and daily living activities; implement infection control and isolation precautions as required
- Manage unit workflow with 64 beds on the MS Stroke Stepdown unit; assist with patient transfers, discharges, and occasional float to other units as needed

Requirements
- Active New York RN license with Nursys verification
- BLS certification; NIHSS certification (or NIHSS training completed prior to start; NIH is required for this unit)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience with stroke stepdown experience
- Travel experience required; local candidates eligible for local rate if within 75 miles
- EMR experience (EPIC preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
- Ability to work on a hospital Med/Surg unit with floating required
- RTO (time off) requests must be included at submission
- Education requirement as applicable to licensure (not specified in notes)
