Overview
Registered Nurse, Med Surg — Mcalester, OK. This is a travel, temporary assignment in an inpatient Med Surg unit within an acute-care setting. Start date: 08/10/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients in the Med Surg unit, including assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; review and verify prescriptions
- Document care and updates in Meditech EMR, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and respond to changes with appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support discharge planning and patient education
- Maintain patient safety and infection prevention standards; assist with mobility and activities of daily living
- Participate in unit coverage with staffing ratios (RN: approx. 1:7) and float to rehab unit as census dictates

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing, eligible to practice in Oklahoma
- Med Surg nursing experience and ability to work in an inpatient Med Surg unit
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR
- Ability to work the listed shift (7a–7p) and to float to rehab unit based on census
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel for a 13-week assignment and comply with travel-specific requirements
