Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) opportunity in Atlantic, IA. Start date 08/10/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay range: $2,105–$2,253, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shift: Nights. This travel position is in a hospital setting under Healthforce Healthcare LLC. OB responsibilities are included within the role, covering labor & delivery, postpartum, and recovery, with the expectation to float to the med-surg floor when obstetric patients are not available.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to obstetric and med-surg patients, including labor & delivery, postpartum, and recovery as needed
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, respond to changes, and implement appropriate interventions
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and record assessments and treatments in the patient record
- Collaborate with obstetric, nursing, and interprofessional teams to coordinate care
- Triage and assess obstetric and postnatal patients, prioritizing safety and timely escalation
- Float to the med-surg floor when there are no obstetric patients to ensure appropriate staffing and patient coverage

Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an approved nursing program; licensed as a Registered Nurse
- Licenses/Certifications: Current, active RN license to practice in Iowa; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience: Obstetric services experience (labor & delivery, postpartum, recovery) or equivalent med-surg exposure preferred
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient-centered communication; ability to work nights and participate in weekend coverage
- Logistics: Able to travel for a 13-week assignment and work in a hospital setting; willingness to float to med-surg when obstetric patients are not available
