Overview
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) in Rochester, New York. Start date: 07/06/2026. Contract duration: 14 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,044–$2,121 per week. Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating days/evenings/night. Work setting: hospital-based Med Surg unit with orthopedic trauma, spinal surgery, and other elective orthopedic diagnoses. This travel assignment is a temporary, hospital-based position requiring adaptability and strong teamwork. No guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to Med Surg patients on an orthopedic-focused unit, including post-operative and trauma patients.
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, interpret telemetry as needed, and update care plans accordingly.
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate escalation.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education, including mobilization and pain management.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; ensure safety and quality of care during rotating shifts and on-call periods.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York (NYRN)
- Orthopedic experience required; 2 years of Med Surg/ortho RN experience preferred
- Telemetry experience required
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
- ACLS (American Heart Association) certification required
- Education: Graduation from an approved RN program; ability to work in a hospital Med Surg setting; willingness to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays as needed
