Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont, United States. Start date 06/24/2026 for a 13-week assignment in a rural, 25-bed independent nonprofit critical access hospital. Guaranteed 36 hours per week with a 3x12-hour day shift (7:00 am–7:00 pm) and every-other weekend. Weekly pay ranges from $1,787 to $1,962. This role covers general Med/Surg care for adults and may include occasional pediatric patients; this is not a pediatric-only unit. Travelers typically begin midweek on Wednesdays and should be prepared for standard onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a general Med/Surg unit, with occasional pediatric cases
- Assess patient status, develop and update individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments
- Monitor vital signs, respond to changes in patient condition, and participate in rapid response as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation using the Nursing Process; deliver holistic care addressing physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs
- Ensure safety, infection control, and quality standards; participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Requirements
- Current Vermont RN licensure or multi-state RN licensure
- BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certification required prior to start
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience
- Meditech experience preferred
- Ability to work in a Med/Surg setting with potential pediatric patient contact; not a pediatric-only unit
- Travel assignment readiness and ability to start on 06/24/2026
