Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to Med Surg patients, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation of clinical status
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and the interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans
- Document in the Cerner EHR with accuracy and timeliness; communicate essential information to the care team
- Educate patients and families on treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care; participate in discharge planning
- Uphold patient safety, infection control, and hospital policies; maintain unit standards (including unit color scrubs if applicable)

Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- ACLS certification required; BLS required
- PALS certification preferred/optional for the first contract; must be attained if traveler extends for additional contracts
- Cerner EHR experience strongly preferred
- Med Surg nursing experience (as applicable to the role)
- Education: Nursing degree from an accredited program
- Ability to work 36 hours per week on a 3x12 night schedule
