Registered Nurse - Med Surg travel assignment available in Portales, New Mexico, United States. Start date: 06/08/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,952–$1,998 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0. Shift: 3x12-hour nights (6 pm–6 am). Setting: inpatient medical-surgical care across a mixed environment with skilled nursing and hospital duties, supported by tele-intensivist services.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical patients, up to a typical 5:1 patient ratio
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform assessments, and update care plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and tele-intensivist support to manage complex cases
- Document care in the electronic health record with accurate and timely charting
- Participate in occasional charge nurse duties as assigned
- Manage pediatric admissions when present and ensure patient safety and infection control

Requirements
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Willingness to perform occasional charge nurse duties
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts (6 pm–6 am) and adapt to a rural acute care setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Bilingual abilities are helpful but not required
