Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg travel assignment in Rochester, New York. Start date: 06/08/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 12-hour rotating (Days/Evenings/Nights). Weekly pay: $2,030–$2,137 per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Setting: hospital unit focused on orthopedic trauma, spine surgery, and other elective orthopedic diagnoses; part of a department known for research and education. The role requires NY RN licensure, telemetry experience, and BLS and ACLS certifications. Rotation includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as needed by the unit.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients with emphasis on orthopedic trauma and spine post-operative care
- Monitor patient status, including telemetry, vital signs, pain control, and wound care, and intervene per protocol
- Administer medications, including analgesia and perioperative medications, and manage IV therapies
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, activity restrictions, mobility, and follow-up plans; participate in rounds and handoffs

Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- BLS (AHA) certification; ACLS (AHA) certification
- Orthopedic experience required; 2 years of orthopedic and telemetry experience preferred
- Telemetry experience required; ability to work in a hospital setting on a Med Surg unit
- Completion of an approved nursing program and eligibility to work as an RN in NY
