Overview
Labor & Delivery RN (L&D) in Kodiak, Alaska. This travel assignment is a hospital-based role starting 08/24/2026, for weeks, on a 3x12 rotating shift. Weekly pay ranges from $2,224 to $2,264 per week, with guaranteed hours of 60 hours per 2 weeks (note: traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift every 2 weeks). The setting is an acute care hospital with Labor & Delivery (LDRP) services, offering travel–temporary assignment stability and on-site housing/vehicle options.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct obstetric nursing care across the LDRP unit, including management of vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Monitor fetal status with external fetal monitoring; recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Assess and provide newborn care, resuscitation as needed, and administer couplet care and parent education
- Manage postpartum care, including postpartum hemorrhage precautions and magnesium sulfate/oxytocin administration as indicated
- Maintain IV/infusion pump management, epidural care, neonatal thermoregulation, and adherence to Epic-based documentation
- Collaborate with PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary; float within scope to meet facility needs
- Uphold patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based obstetric practices; participate in on-unit start/finish-of-shift handoffs
Requirements
- Licensure: Active RN license (Alaska) required; pending licenses not accepted
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of labor & delivery experience
- Vaccines: Hep B vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Other: Ability to work in an LDRP unit and to float within scope; Epic charting experience preferred
- References: 2 professional references covering the last 3 years
