Responsibilities
- Perform assessment/data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status; implement care using the Nursing Process
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with adherence to established care plans and procedures
- Identify learning needs and provide patient and family teaching per policy
- Document all care and patient data in the medical record (EMR and/or paper) per policy and regulatory requirements
- Delegate and supervise assigned care activities; function as a unit lead or Charge Nurse as needed
- Maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
- Coordinate with the care team for admissions, discharges, transfers; ensure efficient unit operations
- Uphold professional standards and ongoing growth through ongoing education and competency development
- Note: there may be up to 24 hours of call-off per month during the assignment
Requirements
- Current Washington State RN licensure
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (HCP) within 30 days of hire; AHA or equivalent
- Minimum one year of RN experience; acute care experience preferred; specialty areas (L&D) favor applicants with related background
- For L&D assignments, additional certifications commonly required: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (or NCC EFM); NRP Advanced for neonatal resuscitation; ACLS within 6 months of hire; STABLE within 6 months (orientation and renewal cycles apply); RN-C in the specialty is preferred
- Ability to work in a home healthcare setting and travel as required
