Overview
Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery (L&D) Lead Nurse | Templeton, California | starts 06/22/2026 | 13 weeks | $2,394–$2,421 per week | Night shift | 3x12-hour shifts | Short-term acute care setting. This travel assignment features no set schedule with rotating nights and requires experienced leadership to guide the L&D team during overnight hours.

Responsibilities
- Lead the L&D unit during the night shift as Charge Nurse, supervising team members and coordinating patient care.
- Monitor fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and respond to complex obstetric situations in collaboration with the broader care team.
- Oversee admissions, labor, delivery, cesarean deliveries, and postpartum care to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
- Assign duties, mentor staff, and optimize staffing to maintain unit efficiency and patient flow.
- Ensure compliance with clinical policies, infection control procedures, and documentation standards; participate in accurate shift handoffs.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and ancillary services to support safe, timely obstetric interventions.

Requirements
- Active RN license (California)
- 5+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
- 2+ years of supervisor/charge nurse experience
- Certification requirements: NRP, ALCS, BLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within the last 2 years
- Ability to work night shifts with rotating schedules; no set schedule required
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills in a high-acuity maternal care setting
