Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the L&D nursing team during night shifts, ensuring safe, efficient patient care and timely responses to obstetric emergencies.
- Provide direct obstetric nursing care, including admission assessment, continuous fetal monitoring, labor support, cesarean delivery coordination, and postpartum care.
- Coordinate intrapartum and postpartum workflows, collaborating with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatal, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to NRP, ALCS, BLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring protocols; maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as charge nurse, assigning staff, managing patient flow and priorities, and supporting staff development, orientation, and precepting.
- Participate in unit safety and quality initiatives, assist with staffing planning, and maintain readiness for high-acuity obstetric events.
Requirements
- 5+ years of RN experience in Labor and Delivery
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/charge nurse experience
- Certification requirements: NRP, ALCS, BLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within the last 2 years
- Ability to lead a night shift, manage high-acuity obstetric care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- No call required for this assignment
