Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2-week period)

- Facility/work setting: Labor & Delivery unit within a 46-bed acute care hospital with level IV trauma designation
- Housing and vehicle: Provided (1-bedroom housing) and traveler vehicle available

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for laboring patients and newborns, including support for vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Monitor fetal status with external and internal monitoring when indicated; respond to non-reassuring patterns
- Provide comprehensive neonatal care: APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, thermoregulation, phototherapy as needed, and participate in NRP procedures
- Perform postpartum care including hemorrhage management, fundus and lochia assessment, and couplet care
- Administer medications and infusions (e.g., Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips) and manage IVs and blood product administration
- Provide breastfeeding support and discharge teaching; coordinate care with respiratory, PT, social services, and pharmacy as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Document patient care accurately in the Epic charting system; participate in handoffs and rapid response as required
- Maintain flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs or to affiliate hospital sites
Requirements
- Active RN license in the applicable state (non-pending); local residents within 50 miles are not eligible
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- Ep ic charting experience; Epic preferred
- Ability to work in a Level IV Trauma facility and to cover weekends
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required; Hepatitis B vaccination required (no titers or declinations accepted)
- Perioperative and postpartum skills including vaginal and cesarean delivery support, external fetal monitoring, and newborn care
- On-site assignment with 3x12 shifts; on-call not required
- Holidays: Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- RTO: Pre-approved time off restrictions apply; one pre-approved time off acknowledged
- Submission requirements: SSN, DOB, RTO at submission; copies of certifications; Epic charting experience
- Floating: Yes—will float within scope to meet facility needs (within hospital or affiliate hospitals)
- Assignment limits: Maximum 1 calendar year on assignment; then a minimum 6-month break before returning
- Block scheduling: Not accommodated
- Housing & vehicle details: Housing provided (1-bedroom), traveler occupancy; vehicle provided; pets generally not allowed; traveler must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance; free parking
- Additional: Local policies require a minimum distance; local residents not accepted per mile-radius rule
