Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult ICU patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and titration of vasoactive medications.
- Perform airway management responsibilities as needed, including rapid sequence intubation, extubation, and collaboration with respiratory therapy.
- Respond to rapid responses and code events; participate in cardioversion, sedation, and blood product administration as ordered.
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, and other invasive monitoring as part of the ICU patient care plan; perform phlebotomy/IV therapy per unit protocols.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, document patient status and interventions in the electronic medical record, and ensure precision in medication administration and documentation.
- Maintain unit standards for infection control, patient safety, and patient/family education; participate in unit-wide procedures and protocol adherence.
- Floats may care for ICU-level boarders in the ER or full-med-surg assignments as needed; maintain appropriate patient ratios (2:1 to 3:1 as assigned).
- Adheres to unit-specific procedures, including titration of drips, telemetry interpretation, and timely response to patient deterioration.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in Vermont (or eligibility and license on file at submission)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required prior to start
- Preferred: CCRN and PALS
- Experience: minimum 3 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
- EPIC electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift in a high-acuity ICU setting and to float to related units as needed
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills
