Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital ICU
This travel assignment places an ICU-capable RN in a short-term acute care environment, providing critical care to adult and geriatric patients with a rotating 12-hour schedule that includes every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities
- Deliver ICU-level care to adult and geriatric patients, including those with complex conditions and requiring ventilator support
- Monitor vital signs, interpret hemodynamic data, manage lines and devices (arterial/central lines, IVs, drains) and titrate therapies as ordered
- Administer medications and therapies, assess for adverse effects, and respond to clinical changes promptly
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, respiratory therapists, imaging, pharmacy, and support staff) to implement and adjust care plans
- Document assessments, plans, progress, and discharge planning in the electronic medical record; maintain accurate and timely communication
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and patient-family education standards; provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations as needed
Requirements
- Active NYS RN license
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation
- NIHSS certification required
- Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Preferred: Emergency Nurses Association certification within 2 years of hire; TNCC recommended within 2 years
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion; effective communication and teamwork; ability to work in a fast-paced ICU setting
- The role supports age-appropriate nursing care across the adult to geriatric population
