Registered Nurse – Emergency Department travel assignment in Tehachapi, California. Start date 08/17/2026 for an 8-week contract in a hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while applying critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Assess patient status, implement orders, administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and document care accurately.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety across shifts.
- Maintain strict adherence to patient safety, infection control, and privacy policies; communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff as needed, while maintaining professional scope of practice.

Requirements
- Active nursing license appropriate for practice in California.
- Emergency department (ER) nursing experience or demonstrated ER competencies aligned with the specialty.
- Ability to work night shifts and 12-hour shift schedule in a hospital setting.
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to coordinate care across disciplines and supervise nursing staff.
- Eligibility for travel assignments and ability to meet assignment duration and start date requirements.
