Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including triage, assessment, and continuous monitoring of patients with a wide range of acute conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Perform or assist with routine procedures within scope of practice; monitor and interpret patient status; escalate to physicians as needed.
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure timely communication with the care team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and support staff to maintain patient flow, safety, and infection control standards; respond to emergencies and codes as trained.
- Provide education to patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning; coordinate care transitions as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license prior to start of contract
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, as needed
- ER nursing experience (preferred or evidenced by position) and competence in rapid assessment and critical care basics
- Eligibility to work in the United States and join a temporary travel assignment
- 13-week contract length and 32 guaranteed hours per week as stated in the posting
