Overview
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) in Olathe, KS, starting 06/21/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Weekly pay ranges from $2,115 to $2,227. Shifts are 3x12-hour rotating. The ED is a 29-bed unit serving the southern portion of Johnson County, with chest pain and primary stroke center capabilities and an approximate daily volume of 120 patients. Orientation is provided, and the unit requires adaptability, teamwork, and a positive approach to patient care.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced ED
- Perform triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and escalation of care per ED protocols
- administer medications, manage IVs, labs, imaging orders, and patient responses; monitor for adverse effects
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team; document care in the electronic medical record and contribute to care planning
- Manage patient flow, discharge planning, and inpatient boarders as needed; provide patient and family education
- Participate in code events and ED-specific pathways (e.g., stroke and chest pain protocols); uphold infection control and safety standards
Requirements
- Active RN license in Kansas or Multistate RN license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and Conscious Sedation Competency required
- TNCC preferred
- Minimum 1 year ED experience within the last 12 months; 2 years ED experience preferred
- Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited program
- Ability to work in an ED setting; Will not float off the unit
- Weekend availability up to 3 weekends per pay period; no on-call requirement; holiday coverage as unit needs
