Overview
Registered Nurse, Emergency Room (ER) – Travel assignment available in Hamburg, Iowa. Start date: 07/13/2026. Duration: 16 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,189–$2,274 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.). Setting: hospital-based travel assignment with block scheduling preferred (6 on, 8 off). This role includes supervisory responsibilities as a charge nurse for Med Surg and ER, with the ability to allocate time to either area as needed.

Responsibilities
- Serve as charge nurse during night shift, supervising ER and/or Med Surg units and coordinating patient care and staffing.
- Provide direct patient care as a registered nurse in ER and/or Med Surg, including initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
- Oversee nursing staff, assign tasks, mentor teammates, and ensure adherence to policies and clinical best practices.
- Perform triage, administer medications and IV therapies, document in the electronic medical record, and communicate orders with physicians and the care team.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; participate in shift handoffs and continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and families to coordinate care and manage high-acuity cases.

Requirements
- Active RN license (US) required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and maintain 36 hours per week
- ER and/or Med Surg nursing experience; supervisory/charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills; ability to work across two units as needed
