Overview
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel) in Honolulu, Hawaii. This 16-week travel assignment begins June 22, 2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week across a rotating 3x12 schedule in a hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to ED patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and triage
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, monitor cardiac status, interpret basic rhythms, and respond to acute emergencies with appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, perform procedures, and ensure timely patient throughput
- Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards
- Support resuscitations and code events as part of the ED team; maintain readiness of equipment and supplies for trauma, cardiac, and pediatric emergencies
- Reassess patient status, communicate with families, coordinate transfers or discharge plans as appropriate
Requirements
- License: Active/unencumbered Hawaii RN license required to be considered (license pending or willingness to apply will be declined)
- Certifications: Current BLS (HCP), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS; these must be valid for the duration of the assignment
- EKG competency: Must pass an orientation EKG exam with a score of 80% or higher
- Experience: Two (2) or more years of staff RN experience in an Emergency Department with Level 1 Trauma Center designation; high-volume, large academic medical center ED experience preferred
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
