Responsibilities
- Deliver family-centered care, partnering with patients and designees to honor preferences, values, and needs; provide developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence-based care.
- Apply nursing process to planning and delivering care; anticipate changes in patient outcomes and unit needs; communicate patient/family learning needs to the interdisciplinary team.
- Communicate and advocate for patient values and needs as care plans are implemented, evaluated, and education is provided across the continuum.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams; foster open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making; support safe transitions of care.
- Incorporate evidence-based practice; identify when revision of policies, procedures, or practice guidelines is needed; contribute to quality improvement efforts.
- Document in the EMR to support care coordination; participate in safety initiatives and interdisciplinary meetings; act as a clinical resource and leader within the unit when appropriate.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Colorado (or eligible to practice in the state)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association, with at least 3 months remaining before expiration at hire
- Ability to work in a high-acuity ER environment on nights; compliance with unit-specific policies and procedures
- Commitment to patient- and family-centered care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
