Responsibilities
- Assess physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient in the CVICU and plan nursing care to meet those needs.
- Lead and coordinate nursing care in collaboration with subordinate personnel to ensure care plans are carried out.
- Conduct patient evaluations, document progress, develop treatment plans, and perform discharge functions.
- Provide direct patient care in the CVICU, including open-heart surgery cases, and monitor critical patient status.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.
- May float to additional units as needed to support unit needs and maintain quality of care.

Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license; license copy must be included in submission
- Minimum 2 years CVICU experience; open-heart experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
- Vaccination: COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; vaccination status to be documented (declinations will not be approved)
- Cerner experience strongly preferred
- Submission must include resume, two supervisory references, certifications, license, and vaccination status
- Ability to work in a high-acuity CVICU environment and participate in a travel assignment, with flexibility to float as needed
