Overview
Registered Nurse, CCU (Critical Care) in Hilo, Hawaii. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting 06/08/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,821 to $1,912. Shift is Flex. Work resides in an inpatient critical care setting with nursing leadership and cross-team collaboration. Orientation is required prior to start, and the schedule includes 12-hour shifts with a rotation that may include Day or Night hours, plus limited call coverage as rostered. Hawaii RN licensure is required by the start date, along with core certifications and ICU experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a high-acuity setting
- Monitor hemodynamics, manage ventilator support, administer medications, and perform complex therapeutic interventions as ordered
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans and routinely reassess progress
- Document in the electronic medical record (Meditech) and communicate patient status to the care team and families
- Respond to clinical changes promptly, escalate when needed, and participate in rounds and discharge planning
- Float to other critical care and step-down units as staffing requires, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license by start of assignment; applicants not currently licensed in HI must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Minimum 3 years ICU/CCU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required or willingness to complete a 45-minute online class as part of orientation
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and be flexible to day or night assignments per roster
- Proficiency with Meditech or similar EMR systems is preferred; orientation will address unit-specific tools
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health and onboarding requirements
