Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services to patients of all age groups; plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to restore or maintain well-being.
- Conduct clinical assessments to identify patient needs and determine appropriateness for therapy; document and review a Plan of Care (POC), progress notes, and other clinical records; revise the POC based on assessment data.
- Plan and provide treatment for neuromuscular, neurological, and orthopedic disorders based on medical referral and therapy assessments; collaborate with the physician and interdisciplinary team.
- Assist/instruct patients and families in transfer techniques appropriate to patient abilities; educate on the safe use of equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes, braces, prosthetic devices) and adapt devices as needed; order rehabilitative equipment as appropriate.
- Provide patient/family education regarding therapeutic procedures, considering age, condition, culture, and learning readiness; apply infection control and universal precautions.
- Accept clinical assignments within education and competence; supervise or coordinate other team members as applicable to patient care.
Requirements
- Current State License as a Physical Therapist – Required
- Proof of current CPR certification – Required
- Current driver's license; reliable transportation and insurance – Required
- 1–2 years experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting – Required
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved program – Required
- Knowledge of English; ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Ability to work in a hospital-based setting; travel locally; flexible schedule
- Prolonged standing and walking; ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing
