Responsibilities
- Prepare the operative field and sterile setup for surgical cases; maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
- Circulate during surgeries as assigned; scrub experience may be required or preferred; assist with instrument counts and handling.
- Assist with patient positioning, anesthesia equipment, and intraoperative needs as directed by the circulating nurse.
- Transfer patients as needed, assist with case turnover, and help with specimen handling according to protocol.
- Maintain documentation in the designated electronic medical record system (EPIC) and support instrument and supply reconciliation.
- Comply with infection control, safety, and hospital policies; participate in unit workflows and case scheduling as cases are planned.

Requirements
- Active New York state license as a Surgical Technologist (OR Tech)
- BLS certification required
- NBSTSA Surgical Tech certification verification or equivalency (Champlain equivalency) required
- Vascular and orthopedic OR skills are a must
- Minimum 2 years of clinical OR experience; 2 years of specialty experience recommended
- Prior travel experience preferred; work history should reflect experience in facilities of similar size and trauma level II or higher
- Ability to work in a fast-paced OR setting and to float as needed within the unit
