Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients spanning birth through geriatric, planning and administering medically prescribed therapy to address developmental, cognitive, emotional, and physical needs.
- Assess, interpret evaluation results, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians or by prescription; establish realistic goals and document progress in the electronic health record.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust therapy plans as needed, and promote maximum independence through individualized therapy interventions.
- Maintain the operation and organization of the occupational therapy program for both inpatients and outpatients; document care in patient records; provide specialty services as appropriate (e.g., custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, activities of daily living).
- Support specialty clinics as available (e.g., spinal cord, geriatric, assistive technology/adaptive equipment; DME, orthotic supply programs) and contribute to program development, quality improvement, risk management, and safety.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and other health professionals; provide training or in-services for students and staff; participate in credentialing activities to maintain core privileges and compliance with professional ethics.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited program
- Licensure: Valid, current OT license in Arizona or eligible for licensure in Arizona or another U.S. state
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years licensed OT experience; strong orthopedic skills
- Credentialing: Must meet Medical Staff credentialing requirements and obtain necessary privileges
- Housing/logistics: Housing application required 2 weeks prior to start
- Orientation: Every 2 weeks during assignment
