Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for inpatients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve activities of daily living, cognitive function, motor skills, and overall independence.
- Deliver evidence-based OT interventions, adapting techniques to meet patient needs and goals across multiple inpatient units as assigned.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (nursing, physicians, speech therapy, physical therapy, social work) to coordinate care and adjust plans based on patient progress.
- Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge planning actions in accordance with hospital policies and payer requirements; ensure timely communication with care teams and families.
- Participate in discharge planning discussions and patient/family education to promote safe transitions and post-discharge outcomes.
- Be prepared to float between assigned inpatient units as needed to meet staffing and patient care demands, while maintaining quality of care and safety standards.
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications as required by unit assignments
- Hospital-based OT experience preferred; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient environment
- Ability to obtain required credentialing and onboarding for a travel assignment; eligible to work in the United States
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; patient-centered approach to care
