Job Description

Travel Medical Assistant - Statewide | Temp/Seasonal

Take your Medical Assistant skills beyond the clinic in a statewide travel role built for a St. Louis-based MA who likes independence, patient connection, and hands-on preventive care. You’ll complete scheduled in-home member visits throughout Missouri, help members stay connected to care, and support Medicare Annual Wellness Visits in the community.

Opportunity

We have 5 openings for field-based Travel Medical Assistants supporting in-home member visits throughout Missouri. You may also support a nearby state when business and patient coverage needs require it.

This is a strong fit for a Medical Assistant who is comfortable working independently, meeting patients where they are, and staying connected with clinical and operations teams while delivering consistent, accurate visit support.

This is a W-2, temporary/seasonal, non-exempt role with variable hours. The project is expected to run through January 2027. An extension may be possible based on business needs, performance, and continued availability, but it is not guaranteed.

Role Details

  • Base location: St. Louis, MO / St. Louis-area candidates
  • Openings: 5
  • Travel scope: Throughout Missouri, with possible nearby-state travel based on coverage needs
  • Employment type: W-2, temporary/seasonal, non-exempt
  • Schedule: Variable hours based on patient volume, member availability, geography, and business coverage needs
  • Pay: $35 per hour

What You Will Own

  • Travel to scheduled in-home member visits throughout Missouri
  • Complete Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities within your Medical Assistant scope of practice
  • Take and document vitals, health screenings, and other member information
  • Perform approved point-of-care testing, including A1Cs and UAs
  • Support specimen collection and other assigned clinical activities, as applicable
  • Document visits accurately and on time in the designated system
  • Follow clinical workflows, safety procedures, infection-control practices, and HIPAA requirements
  • Work independently in the field while staying connected with clinical and operations teams

Travel and Schedule

This is a statewide travel role, not a St. Louis-only position. You may travel throughout Missouri, including overnight assignments when needed, and may also support a nearby state based on coverage needs.

  • Weekly hours vary based on patient volume, member availability, geographic needs, and business coverage needs
  • There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week
  • Schedules are typically provided about two weeks ahead
  • Required out-of-state travel time is paid
  • Mileage is reimbursed at $0.725 per mile between patient visits
  • Eligible travel expenses for extended or overnight assignments are covered, including transportation, rental cars when needed, hotel accommodations, and meals

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Medical Assistant certificate, diploma, or credential
  • Experience taking vitals, completing screenings, supporting point-of-care testing, and documenting clinical information
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current registration, and active auto insurance
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Missouri, including overnight assignments when needed
  • Comfort working independently in patients’ homes
  • Strong organization and follow-through with visit documentation, scheduling changes, and field-based workflows
  • Ability to meet required onboarding and compliance requirements, including vaccination and TB/PPD documentation

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
  • Experience completing in-home or field-based patient visits
  • Preventive-care screening experience
  • Experience with A1Cs, UAs, specimen collection, or similar point-of-care workflows
  • Well-Child Visit experience
  • Background supporting older adults, pediatric patients, community health, primary care, or mobile care programs

Why This Role Stands Out

You’ll use your MA skills in a flexible, field-based environment where the work is personal, practical, and community-centered. Instead of staying in one clinic, you’ll travel to members’ homes, help close care gaps, support preventive care, and bring clinical services closer to the people who need them.

If you are based in or near St. Louis and are open to statewide travel, we’d like to hear from you.

Compensation

The expected total compensation range is USD 35 Hourly.

We help PE-backed companies execute faster by hiring target-state leaders. These are executives who have already scaled the exact type of business your portfolio company is becoming.

Our work is most concentrated in operationally complex sectors, including healthcare services and regulated business models, where execution mistakes are expensive and leadership gaps surface quickly.

Traditional executive search optimizes for access and pedigree. Urrly optimizes for execution.

The result is lower leadership risk, faster time-to-impact, and improved exit readiness across the portfolio.
