JOB SUMMARY

DFJ is seeking a collaborative, data-driven Travel Manager to lead and continuously improve our corporate travel program. This highly visible role owns travel policy, supplier strategy, travel technology, compliance, reporting, traveler support and measurable savings. The Travel Manager will partner with Treasury, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement and business leaders to strengthen controls, improve spend visibility and deliver a safe, efficient and positive traveler experience.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in corporate travel management, travel procurement or a comparable managed-spend program
  • Experience with Concur Travel or a similar online booking tool, including policy configuration, approval workflows and reporting
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting, spend analysis, savings measurement and management reporting
  • Demonstrated supplier negotiation and contract-management experience with travel agencies, airlines, hotels or rental car providers
  • Knowledge of corporate travel policy, expense controls, compliance and duty-of-care practices
  • Strong analytical, communication, project-management and stakeholder-influence skills, with the ability to turn travel data into practical recommendations

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing an American Express or comparable corporate card program
  • Experience conducting a travel agency evaluation, RFP or supplier transition
  • Professional travel or procurement credential, such as GTP, CCTE, CTIE or CPSM
  • International travel program or duty-of-care experience

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Lead DFJ’s travel program and policy, including booking channels, preferred suppliers, advance-booking expectations, approvals, exceptions and compliance
  • Analyze data from Concur, the travel management company, corporate card providers and the general ledger to identify trends, service issues, risks and savings opportunities
  • Build and share dashboards and scorecards covering travel spend, policy compliance, online adoption, preferred-supplier use, traveler service, agency performance and realized savings
  • Lead sourcing, negotiations, implementation and performance management for the travel management company, airlines, hotels, rental car providers and other travel suppliers
  • Lead travel agency evaluations and RFPs, define service and technology requirements, and recommend whether to retain, renegotiate with or transition providers
  • Administer and optimize Concur Travel and related systems, including policy settings, approval workflows, supplier content, integrations, user access, data quality and reporting
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Human Resources, Security and business leaders to align travel, corporate card, payment, reconciliation, duty-of-care and accounting processes
  • Create clear communications and training that help employees and managers understand travel policy, booking procedures, preferred suppliers, traveler safety and exception responsibilities
  • Develop the annual travel budget and savings roadmap, maintain an auditable pipeline of initiatives, and validate forecasted and realized savings
  • Monitor travel-industry, supplier, technology, tax, immigration, security and regulatory developments and recommend appropriate program updates
  • Resolve escalated traveler-service, disruption and emergency-support issues while balancing safety, service, policy, cost and business continuity

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office environment with periodic domestic or international travel required
  • Occasional after-hours support for escalated traveler or operational issues

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Support group travel, tradeshows, conferences and business programs, including NBAA and Sales, Marketing, Maintenance and Operations events
  • Perform related travel-program duties and special projects as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position typically falls between $95,000 and $115,000 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.

Note: the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location.
