Overview
Laboratory Technologist (Medical Technologist) – San Luis Obispo, California – travel assignment starting 06/22/2026 for approximately 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,589–$1,667 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: 4x10-hour days on a rotating schedule that includes weekends; start times may vary (6:00, 9:00, 13:30, 21:00 as needed). Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital clinical laboratory. This role requires state licensure and specific system experience to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing across core areas (e.g., chemistry, hematology, microbiology, transfusion services) following established protocols
- Prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens with accurate labeling and handling
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation; perform quality control, quality assurance, and routine maintenance
- Accurately enter results into the EPIC Beaker LIS; verify data and communicate critical findings to clinical teams
- Adhere to CLIA, safety, and institutional policies; participate in proficiency testing and continuous improvement activities
- Collaborate with pathologists, technologists, and nursing staff to support timely patient care; contribute to rotating shift coverage and on-call rotation as needed

Requirements
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required
- EPIC Beaker experience required
- 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Certification from ASCP or NCA preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends; start times may vary (6:00, 9:00, 13:30, 21:00)
- Eligibility for a travel assignment in the stated location
