About the Role:
As a Travel Consultant, you’ll play an integral role providing high quality, friendly customer service as you support travellers across our long-distance rail network, third-party partners and corporate clients.
This is a fixed term, part-time position (20 hours per week) based in Maryborough until October 2026

Purpose That Counts. As a Travel Consultant, some of your duties will include:
• Provide accurate travel advice and complete reservations and ticketing for rail, third party and corporate travel.
• Process payments efficiently and ensure every interaction meets our quality assurance standards.
• Drive revenue by up selling travel products and encouraging return business.
• Maintain strong product and industry knowledge through ongoing training and familiarisation activities.
• Build positive relationships and maximise goodwill with both internal and external customers.
• Support Queensland Rail Travel operations by following all policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Contribute to a collaborative Customer Contact team and assist with additional duties when required.

Roster/Hours
Shifts are generally between the hours of 0830-1615 Monday to Friday. Based on season peaks and business trends additional hours will be offered to part-time employees on a regular basis.
You may also be required to travel for work.
We are looking to connect with someone who ideally has:
• A passion for customer service excellence and a commitment to creating positive travel experiences.
• The ability to work within a diverse team in a fast-paced work environment.
• A positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills e.g. Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience using travel booking systems would be highly regarded but not essential.
• Previous tourism experience is desirable but not essential.
