Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy treatment to assigned patients under supervision of a licensed OT, focusing on activities of daily living, functional mobility, and upper-extremity coordination.
- Assist in the implementation and adjustment of OT treatment plans; document patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.
- Support patient and family education on therapy activities, safety, and home exercise programs; train on adaptive equipment as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the patient record; ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and case managers to support discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Participate in ongoing professional duties as directed by the supervising OT, including screenings or assessments within scope of practice.
Requirements
- Current or eligible Maryland licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or equivalent state licensure as required.
- Graduation from an accredited OTA program.
- Relevant experience in geriatric rehabilitation or skilled nursing/long-term care settings is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment with supervision and clear communication with the care team.
- Good documentation skills and proficiency with common electronic medical records systems.
- Eligibility to participate in a 13-week travel assignment starting June 1, 2026.
