Overview

The Travel and Card Operations Program Manager will support the delivery, operational governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of Microsoft’s global corporate Travel and Card programs, helping ensure consistent, scalable, and effective program operations across a complex global environment.

This role will focus on building scalable operational solutions across corporate travel and payments, including the development and optimization of corporate card and commercial payment solutions that improve efficiency, financial controls, reconciliation, and employee experience.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on corporate travel and payments experience, strong operational program management capabilities, and an AI-first mindset. The role will identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate manual activities, improve service delivery, and build solutions that can scale across a complex global organization.

This role will partner closely with Procurement, Finance, Controllership, Human Resources, and business stakeholders, including Finance Controllers, HR Business Partners, Budget Managers, and Business Managers, to understand business requirements and translate them into practical, scalable Travel and Card solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of corporate travel operations and commercial payment programs with a builder mentality, using data, AI, automation, and process improvement to solve operational challenges and continuously improve the employee experience.

Responsibilities

Scalable, AI-First Operations

  • Apply an AI-first mentality to Travel and Card operations by identifying opportunities to automate repetitive work, improve decision-making, and simplify employee and operational experiences.
  • Identify practical applications of AI, automation, analytics, and workflow capabilities across travel servicing, payment operations, employee support, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting.
  • Design processes and solutions with scalability in mind, reducing reliance on manual activities and one-off operational support.
  • Use experimentation, data, operational insights, and customer feedback to continuously improve Travel and Card processes.
  • Support the adoption and operationalization of new tools and capabilities that improve program efficiency and employee experience.

Business Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build effective partnerships across Procurement, Finance, Controllership, Human Resources, and other corporate functions.
  • Engage with Finance Controllers, HR Business Partners, Budget Managers, Business Managers, and other business stakeholders to understand business needs, identify operational challenges, and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Translate complex Travel and Card requirements into clear operational recommendations.
  • Facilitate working sessions and operational reviews to drive decisions, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Balance business requirements with global program standards, financial controls, operational scalability, policy requirements, and employee experience.

Travel Operations & Governance

  • Support the effective delivery and governance of Microsoft’s global corporate travel program, driving consistency, scalability, and operational excellence across markets.
  • Monitor operational performance, service trends, employee feedback, and recurring issues to identify opportunities for program improvement.
  • Support global and regional program changes, ensuring operational requirements, stakeholder needs, and employee experience are considered throughout implementation.

Global Card Program & Payment Solutions

  • Support the operational management, optimization and continuous improvement of Microsoft’s global corporate Card Program.
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing management of corporate card and commercial payment solutions that improve employee experience, operational efficiency, financial controls and scalability.
  • Partner with Finance, Controllership, Procurement, card issuers, payment providers, and suppliers to implement and improve payment capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand centralized, digital, and automated payment solutions that reduce manual processes and improve financial controls.
  • Monitor payment operations and supplier performance and drive resolution of recurring issues.
  • Support the development of scalable payment operating models, processes, controls, and governance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in corporate travel, commercial payments, corporate card programs, Travel & Expense operations, or closely related disciplines.
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders including Finance, Controllership, Procurement, Human Resources, Budget Managers, or Business Managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting corporate travel, Travel & Expense, payment/card, or commercial payment operations in a complex business environment.
  • Experience with commercial card or B2B payment solutions, such as corporate cards, purchasing cards, virtual cards, lodge/central accounts, centralized travel payment solutions, or related providers/suppliers.
  • Experience managing cross-functional operational programs, partnering with multiple stakeholder groups, and translating business requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with experience using data, analytics, Power BI, AI, automation, or workflow technologies to improve operations.
  • Experience with global service delivery, supplier performance management, operational governance, continuous improvement, and managing priorities in a global, matrixed environment.

Business Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Ireland is € 60,300.00 - € 102,600.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
