Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Surgeon – Level II Trauma Center

(SAMGI) is seeking a
Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Surgeon

to join our established Trauma/ACS program at
Los Robles Regional Medical Center

, a
Level II Trauma Center

. This is a high-acuity, well-supported program with a strong academic component and excellent APP and residency support.


Program & Position Highlights


  • Dedicated
    Trauma & Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Program


  • 24-hour in-house Trauma Surgeon coverage


  • Trauma Surgeon primarily responsible for:


    • Tier I & II trauma activations


    • Trauma consults


  • ACS Surgeon primarily responsible for:


    • All ACS consults and ACS operative cases


  • On weekdays without a separate ACS surgeon scheduled, Trauma Surgeon will cover:


    • Combined Trauma + ACS consults and rounds


  • Daily 24-hour backup call coverage


  • Trauma patients primarily admitted to the
    Trauma Service


  • Daily multidisciplinary rounds and progress note documentation


  • Robust support from:


    • Experienced
      Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)


    • Surgery Residency Program


  • Active role in resident education is a core expectation


  • Post-op and post-discharge patients followed in the
    outpatient clinic


Responsibilities


  • Lead all assigned Trauma and/or ACS clinical care


  • Respond to Tier I & II trauma activations


  • Perform trauma and emergent operative cases


  • Manage ACS consults and surgeries


  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds


  • Supervise and collaborate with APPs


  • Support and participate in surgical resident education


  • Provide outpatient post-operative follow-up

Requirements


  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery


  • Fellowship training in Trauma / Surgical Critical Care preferred


  • Eligible for California medical licensure


  • Strong clinical judgment in high-acuity trauma and ACS environments


  • Commitment to team-based care and surgical education
