Job Title: Transporter
Location: Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Department: Recovery Services
Employment Type: Part-time

The Transporter will provide transportation to and from the system's Community Services facilities and into the community for clienteleparticipatingin provided programsS/he will transport persons served to and from their homes or appointments in the community as arrangedS/he will coordinate all transportation of persons served with the Transportation Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent thesystemCommunity Services and serve in a positive manner to clients, staff, community agencies, and community members.

  • Advocate for Clients.

  • Treat all persons served, their families, staff, community agencies, and community members with dignity and respect.

  • Prepare daily transportation routesutilizinginternet mapping sources to ensure efficient and effective transportation operation meetingprogrammingneeds of persons served.

  • Record all persons picked up for transport each day at each stop.

  • Document client no-shows for pick upInform assigned teammemberof the client’s no-show from transportation services following a pick-up request.

  • Ensure the safety of vehicles by implementing safety check procedures according to Preferred Community Services policiesUtilize the Vehicle Pre-Operational Checklistform to guide safetycheckat a minimum weekly.

  • Attend/complete all required training.

  • Adhere to all HIPAA requirements.

  • Assist Transportation Supervisor with onsite supportServe as a staff liaison and representative.

  • Serve as a member of the Health &Safety FirstResponder TeamAssist the Health & Safety Officer with general Health & Safety maintenance tasks as directed such as completion of monthly inventory checks of first aid and blood spill kits, monthly Office Safety Checklists, and annual Accessibility Survey.

  • Provide transportation for Clients as schedule allows.

  • When not transporting persons served, the Transporter may be requested toassistwith such duties as filing, auditing of records of persons served, work order repairs, general office cleaning, and completion of errands as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates professional communication skills including the ability to read and write coherently and cohesively.

  • Demonstrates personal characteristics suitable to provide a positive role model for personsserved,their families, staff, community agencies, and community members.

  • Demonstrates strong time management skillsindicatingthe ability to complete all required paperwork on time and meet all timeline requirements.

  • Demonstratesabilityto drive and knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.

  • Demonstratesabilitytomaintaina positive attitude in the work environment.

  • Acquiresknowledge of Missouri Department of Mental Health Certification Standards governing program practices.

Experience and/or Education Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma isrequired

Supervisory Requirements:

  • None

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglectand fingerprint check.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

  • All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Current driver’s license, acceptable drivingrecordand current autoinsurance..

  • Mustpossessand maintain a Missouri Class E license.

  • Mustattainand maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens.

Physical Requirements:
