Job Description

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Per-Diem (as needed)

Are you passionate about helping others and looking for a role where you can make a difference every day? Join Recovery Centers of America (RCA) in Mays Landing as a Transportation Support Specialist and play a vital part in supporting patients on their journey to recovery.

The Transportation Support Specialist ensures safe, timely, and compassionate transportation for patients traveling to treatment, medical appointments, urgent care visits, and other destinations as assigned. In addition to transportation responsibilities, this role also supports patient care activities, including safety monitoring, rounding, and assisting with day-to-day needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients and staff to designated locations, following strict schedules.
  • Perform and document daily vehicle safety inspections.
  • Process patient belongings during admissions and after visitations, including searching, debugging, and delivery.
  • Monitor patient activity, conduct safety and security checks, and complete required documentation (rounds sheets, incident reports, behavioral notes).
  • Assist with high-risk or re-engagement situations as needed.
  • Communicate safety concerns, vehicle needs, and transportation issues to program leadership or the administrator on call.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams regarding admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Assist with general patient care tasks and facility needs when transportation demands are low.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the safety and care of patients.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain—training available)

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in transportation or a similar support role
  • At least 6 months of experience in a health or human service-related field

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of professionalism and patient-centered communication
  • Proficiency with technology systems and tools (training provided)
