Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of domestic and international transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries, cost-effective solutions and excellent service to internal stakeholders and suppliers.

The role focuses on operational transportation management across road, sea, air and courier shipments while maintaining high standards of communication, documentation and compliance.

Responsibilities

Freight management and implementation

  • Plan and coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Arrange road, sea, air and courier transportation.
  • Select the most appropriate transportation solution based on cost, transit time and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate directly with freight forwarders, transport companies, shipping lines, airlines and courier providers.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation issues.
  • Ensure on-time collection and delivery of materials.
  • Maintain continuous communication with suppliers, internal departments and logistics partners.
  • Prepare shipping instructions and transportation documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with customs and transportation regulations where applicable.

Cost Management

  • Obtain transportation quotations from approved suppliers.
  • Compare offers and recommend the most cost-effective solution.
  • Negotiate freight rates when required.
  • Verify transportation invoices and related logistics charges.
  • Support freight cost optimization initiatives.

Administration

  • Ensure that customs procedures are correctly followed and up to date.
  • Ensure that all information related to shipments, costs, and databases is accurately updated in all company IT systems.
  • Maintain accurate shipment, cost, and operational data in company systems

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in transportation or freight forwarding.
  • Demonstrated experience through successfully managed logistics cases/projects (portfolio or case references required).
  • Experience with import and export documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and transport documentation.
  • Experience in multimodal transport planning (sea, road, port operations).
  • Familiarity with route surveys and coordination with heavy-lift engineering teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex shipments simultaneously.
