Primary Function

The Load Planner II is responsible for maximizing truckload shipments between company warehouses and customers. The incumbent will enter, schedule, and track loads to ensure proper load delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal customers, including order entry, production, shipping, and receiving, to ensure loads are scheduled to make specific arrival dates.
  • Utilize tools including SAP/TM to build customer shipments and determine the most cost effective method of planning.
  • Monitor tools to identify past due orders and expedite planning process.
  • Work with carriers to ensure timely planning, pick-up and delivery of outbound loads.
  • Provide notification of freight readiness, re-consignment and other required communication to carriers.
  • Track outbound shipments as requested/required.
  • Daily reporting to manufacturing groups to advise each item that is needed to complete loads to assist with our COT performance.
  • Plan/track/expedite intercompany stock transfers needed to complete orders and prevent shortages.
  • Maintain and update all known accessorial charges and spot quote information in TM.
  • Arrange transportation for customer returns.
  • Provide freight quotes as required.
  • Analyze outbound freight to determine potential cost savings, proactively identify transportation savings opportunities, and present findings.

Qualifications

  • Two year degree in business or related field
  • 3+ years related work experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, preferred
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office and internet browsers
  • Experience in SAP, Max Load, and other transportation management systems, preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under time/date driven deadlines
  • Strong customer orientation, sense of urgency, and problem solving skills

Education


Associate Degree in Business Management or Related Field
