What Drives Success

The Transportation Sourcing Principal for HVAC Logistics is responsible for the strategic procurement of specialized freight services to move high-value, fragile, and often oversized heating and cooling equipment. This role is responsible for developing, executing, and continuously improving the company’s flatbed and intermodal strategy. • Intermodal Optimization: Lead the conversion of long-haul residential AC and furnace shipments from over-the-road (OTR) to rail to reduce carbon footprint and drive cost savings
  • Seasonal Capacity Planning: Partner with operations and distribution teams to align transportation plans with volume forecasts and seasonality. Develop "Elastic Capacity" strategies to handle the surge in equipment demand during Q2 and Q3, ensuring no "stock-outs" at regional distribution centers.
  • Job-Site Delivery Management: Source flatbed carriers capable of high-touch job-site deliveries, often requiring coordination with cranes for rooftop placements and strict "just-in-time" (JIT) arrival windows.
  • Freight Analytics: Use TMS and payment data to analyze lane density from manufacturing plants to regional hubsto identify opportunities to improve carrier efficiency and cost.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuous review of industry best practices and how we can implement those practices within Lennox business units. Identify consolidation and routing opportunities to support network design or supply chain strategy initiatives.
