As a Transportation Safety and Compliance Advisor, you will be responsible for training and ensuring compliance with regulations, laws and company policies for transport managers and in-house drivers in the Greater Montreal area, the Ottawa region and Abitibi. Please note that the position starts early in the morning, typically between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.

What you’re responsible for:

  • Acting as a trainer and advisor in road safety and regulatory compliance;
  • Advising drivers on best practices in terms of road safety and compliance;
  • Managing follow-ups with transport managers regarding logbooks and safety rounds to ensure compliance with road regulations;
  • Collaborating with transport and fleet maintenance managers to monitor the PEP and transport equipment compliance;
  • Visiting our various sites to inspect the quality and conformity of the work performed by our drivers;
  • Performing road assessments, audits and training for new drivers as well as existing employees;
  • Analyzing, documenting and following up on road accidents, infractions, complaints and near-misses related to transportation, and provide recommendations as needed.

Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have a Class 1 FM license and have knowledge of dangerous goods transportation;
  • You have experience as a driver, inspector, trainer or in a related role;
  • You have a strong understanding of SAAQ regulations and the Highway Safety Code;
  • You have good knowledge of compliance standards related to vehicle dimensions and weight;
  • You are bilingual in French and English;
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as the DCE system.
