Job Description

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $75,000

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Age 21 or older
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the pupil transportation industry.
  • Three years of experience using advanced features in Microsoft Office and Versa Trans Routing & Scheduling preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safe, effective and efficient techniques in all aspects of bus routing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional standards.
  • Ability to make sound, accurate, and timely decisions; and to understand the implications of those decisions.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL License and School Bus Driver Permit to assist with routes as needed.
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced environment.
  • Successful completion of the District's required medical and background check.

General Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Transportation and/or their designee, the Transportation Operations Router is primarily responsible for ensuring school bus routes are prepared to be safe, effective, and efficient while providing optimal customer service.

Work Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform daily operations of computer routing, scheduling, and documented reporting and related services.
  • Coordinate employee route and field trip selection procedures and postings.
  • Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain and track the most current information regarding sexual predators and sexual offenders and route bus stops accordingly.
  • Coordinate transportation of McKinney/Vento students in coordination with student services via shared agreement with school districts & parents.
  • Process receivables and payables for McKinney/Vento students.
  • Drives bus routes as required and determined by management.
  • Performs daily dispatcher duties as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains route files, maps, and records for District programs.
  • Assumes on-call status for night and weekend activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
