The City of Durham is committed to Vision Zero with a goal to end traffic deaths and serious injuries. The Transportation Planner position, housed in the Transportation Department, will play a critical role in the implementation of the 2025 Vision Zero Action Plan.
The Transportation Planner has the opportunity to play a leading role in advancing Vision Zero in Durham. With six key strategies in the Vision Zero Action Plan, this position will participate in and orchestrate Road Safety Audits, work with the community to implement quick-build safety projects, and manage information-sharing, including the maintenance and promotion of the Vision Zero Data Dashboard and Transportation Department Project Tracking Dashboard.

Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., 30-40 hours/per week
Compensation: $30-$60/hour
