The Department of Environmental Services (DES) is seeking a Transportation Operations Management Analyst to join our Operations team within the Transportation Engineering and Operations (TE&O) Bureau. TE&O manages over 900 miles of roadway and works to optimize the use of Arlington County’s streets and infrastructure to move people and goods safely and efficiently across all forms of transportation. This position is responsible for evaluating operational safety impacts of temporary and permanent uses of the public right-of-way, administering shared curb space regulations, addressing customer requests, and coordinating signage to enhance safety and accessibility for all roadway users.
Major Job Duties:
The ideal candidate brings working knowledge of MUTCD, proficiency in ArcGIS or equivalent tools, and strong Microsoft Office skills. They are a clear and effective communicator, highly organized and self-motivated, and adept at leveraging industry standards to make timely, evidence-based decisions. They also demonstrate a collaborative, solution-oriented approach to working with stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Substitution(s): Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for educational requirement. A Master's degree or higher may be substituted for some of the experience requirement.

Work hours: This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with work hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Telework or flexible work schedule opportunities available upon supervisor approval.
