Inside the Role

The Transportation Analyst I supports outbound transportation operations and continuous improvement initiatives across ocean exports, LTL, purchase order execution, and related logistics projects. This role focuses on analytical support, operational coordination, KPI tracking, and process adherence to ensure transportation flows meet DTNA service, cost, and compliance expectations.

Position offers a starting salary range of $58,000 - $75,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and  experience

What You Drive at DTNA

Operational Execution & Coordination

  • Supports day-to-day outbound transportation activities across ocean export shipping, LTL moves, and related distribution flows in alignment with service and cost targets
  • Executes transportation purchase orders, shipment requests, and routing instructions in applicable systems (e.g., SAP/TMS), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinates with 3PL partners, carriers, PDC teams, and internal stakeholders to support shipment planning, execution, and issue resolution
  • Assists with monitoring shipment status, delivery exceptions, and documentation readiness, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Supports export scheduling activities, including container bookings, cut-offs, sailings, and coordination with customs/brokerage teams

Ocean Export & LTL Support

  • Prepares, validates, and tracks ocean export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and export declarations
  • Supports LTL shipment execution, consolidation opportunities, and service performance tracking
  • Assists with root cause review of late, incomplete, or exception shipments across export and domestic modes
  • Coordinates closely with PDC operations, dealer support, and compliance teams to align outbound execution with customer delivery commitments

KPI Analysis & Reporting

  • Maintains and updates outbound transportation KPIs, including: On-Time Delivery (OTD), LTL service and cost metrics, ocean export cycle times and documentation accuracy, purchase order and shipment execution accuracy
  • Performs basic trend analysis and data validation to identify risks, gaps, or improvement opportunities
  • Prepares recurring and ad-hoc reports to support leadership reviews, operational meetings, and project updates

Compliance, Documentation & Process Adherence

  • Ensures outbound transportation activities follow DTNA policies, SOPs, and applicable transportation and export compliance requirements
  • Validates shipment documentation accuracy and completeness to support audits and regulatory requirements
  • Maintains organized and audit-ready records related to shipments, purchase orders, carrier documentation, and project deliverables

Continuous Improvement & Project Support

  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives such as: Export process simplification, LTL optimization and cost initiatives, transportation network enhancements, system or reporting improvements
  • Contributes data gathering, analysis, documentation, and testing support for transportation-related projects
  • Assists with the implementation of new tools, processes, or reporting standards under guidance from senior analysts or management

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 1–3 years of transportation, logistics, supply chain, or analytical experience
  • Foundational knowledge of transportation modes, including LTL and ocean export shipping
  • Working knowledge of data analysis, KPI reporting, and business systems (SAP, TMS, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with purchase order execution, shipment tracking, and basic transportation documentation
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with operations, compliance, finance, and external partners

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience supporting ocean export shipping, customs documentation, or international logistics
  • Exposure to DTNA operations, PDC environments, or 3PL partnerships
  • Proficiency in Excel or other analytical/reporting tools
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or transportation projects
  • Prior SAP, TMS, or logistics systems experience
