Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Transportation Manager to lead transportation operations within a high-volume, fast-paced distribution environment. The Transportation Manager will work closely with the Shipping Manager and Operations Leadership Team to achieve daily shipping, transportation, and customer service goals. This role requires an exceptional communicator, trainer, mentor, coach, and leader who thrives under pressure and develops high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop transportation personnel.
  • Manage carrier relationships, freight scheduling, routing, load planning, and shipment execution.
  • Partner closely with the Shipping Manager and operational leaders to achieve daily goals.
  • Monitor operational reports, transportation dashboards, and performance data.
  • Ensure accurate and timely systematic confirmation of all orders, shipments, and transportation transactions.
  • Maintain transportation schedules and ensure all pickups, deliveries, and appointments are executed as planned.
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Resolve transportation issues, delays, and service disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and transportation regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of transportation, logistics, supply chain, or distribution leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of carrier management, freight operations, scheduling, and transportation planning.
  • Experience with TMS, WMS, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
