The Transportation Geographic Information Systems Program Analyst 1 will report to the Information Technology Division. This position will serve as the primary West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) liaison to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), managing communications and updates for critical road designations (NHS, Functional Classifications, Federal Aid, and Urban Boundaries). Assists with accurate sample data collection for the Highway Performance Monitoring System. Performs related work as required.
TRAINING/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with six (6) semester hours in computer science or GIS.
Note: Preference may be given to those with degrees in geography, cartography, geology, forestry, natural or earth sciences, environmental sciences, engineering, engineering technology, mathematics, computer science, planning, or a related field.
This is the entry level classification in the series. No experience is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required.
