
TxDOT’s San Antonio District is searching for a Transportation Engineering Specialist I, II or III in San Antonio, TX! This position works directly with the pavement engineer by gathering pavement data and providing preliminary analysis with reporting. Transportation Engineering Specialists collect, process and analyze field data using automated pavement measurement equipment, use analysis software, provide technical support for pavement evaluation efforts, and develop innovative solutions. Supports pavement engineer with meetings coordination and presentations. If you're interested in pavements, data analysis, data mapping and reporting, this position will keep you engaged and sharpen your skills.
Annual Salary Ranges:
Transportation Engineer Specialist I (B18) - $45,521- $71,055
Transportation Engineer Specialist II (B19) - $48,244- $76,028
Transportation Engineer Specialist III (B20) - $51,158- $81,351
This position is for one Transportation Engineer Specialist I, II or III. Performs advanced and specialized drafting, calculations and design work; performs field work; uses automated systems; learns specialized techniques; trains and reviews the work of others; others. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects. May serve as lead worker. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
Experience
Transportation Engineer Specialist I: 6 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
Transportation Engineer Specialist II: 7 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
Transportation Engineer Specialist III: 8 years drafting, design, plan preparation.
