This position collaborates with Planning Organizations to evaluate long-range plans and identify projects best suited for submission to the Strategic Transportation Investments (STI) Prioritization system, as well as to identify candidates for funding opportunities outside the STI process. In addition, this role also supports and champions the development, advancement, and updating of Comprehensive Transportation Plans (CTPs), serving as a key bridge between the Transportation Planning Division (TPD), Divisions, and Planning Organizations to proactively advance outdated plans and help manage and deliver timely updates. The Corridor Development Engineer will actively participate in complex engineering studies to support the evaluation and prioritization of transportation improvements identified in the long-range transportation plan. This involvement may include contributing to the development of design concepts and performing traffic engineering analyses. These studies aim to determine the type and scope of improvements needed, estimate project costs, assess the potential for securing funding, and provide a preliminary evaluation of possible environmental impacts associated with proposed projects.
