STV is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join the team. This position offers excellent potential for career advancement as this individual would assist staff and our other offices who have a direct impact on the improvement of our national infrastructure. The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to be part of a team, displays confidence, and possesses a vast understanding of roadway design principles.

Responsibilities include

  • Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the MDOT (SHA, MdTA, MTA and MPA), Baltimore City and other County/City agencies

  • Developing design plans including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, typical sections, superelevation data and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets

  • Providing Project Management duties which include proposal preparation, multi-disciplinary coordination and subconsultant coordination.

  • Designing to adhere to ADA Standards

  • Coordinating design development and providing technical direction and mentorship to the design team

  • Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages

  • Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.

  • Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers

  • Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • MDOT and municipal client experience is a plus

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive transportation design experience

  • Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/Corridor modeling design software

  • OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Compensation Range:

$124,726.29 - $142,544.33
