Summary

**Disclaimer - This position will be considered classified-exempt and “at will.”

The Transportation DMV Specialist 1 in this position reports to the Vehicle Services Division of the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles in Kanawha County. Under general supervision, performs full-performance level clerical work assisting customers, answering inquiries, and providing information pertaining to the services provided by the WV Division of Motor Vehicles. Work involves knowledge, interpretation, and the application of motor vehicle laws, policies, and procedures. Performs other work as required.

Qualifications

**Preference may be given to Candidates with these qualifications**

TRAINING/EDUCATION:

  • Graduation from standard high school or the equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of full time or equivalent part time paid experience in bookkeeping, sales, cashiering or related public contact work.
  • Substitution: College credit from an accredited college or university, business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
  • All applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a criminal background investigation.
